Music Technology – L3 Applied General
Special Entry Requirements
In addition to the level 3 Applied General entry requirements, a keen interest and passion for music is essential. Previous experience of performing music and/or using music technology software would be an advantage.
The single Applied General is equivalent to one A Level and can be taken alongside A Levels or Applied Generals. This qualification enables learners to develop a core knowledge of the music technology industry and the use of recording and technical equipment.
During the course you will develop skills in studio recording, music production techniques and live sound. This will enable you to record bands and instrumentalists, create your own pieces of music and develop you listening and analysis skills.
You will study the music technology industry and deal with real-world professional scenarios, equipping you with the skills necessary to enter this exciting field.

The course is based in our bespoke Music centre which is fitted out with a music studio, practice rooms and modern production equipment, enabling you to learn in a practical and enjoyable way.
This qualification is assessed through a variety of practical tasks and written assignments.
