Sport - BTEC Subsidiary Diploma
Special Entry Requirements:
You will need to meet the level 3 BTEC entry requirements.
The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to one A Level and can be taken alongside A Levels or BTECs as well as the College’s Rugby or Football Academy to create your perfect study programme.
If you love sport this could be for you. The Sport Department at Scarborough Sixth Form College have a real team feel both on the field and in the classroom. This course allows you to explore Sport both as a performer and academically. It develops your reflective learning, self management and team skills.
You will study the following units over two years. All are core and lead to many different aspects of university study:
1. Principles of Anatomy & Physiology
2. Physiology of Fitness
3. Health & Safety in Sport
4. Training & Fitness for Sport
5. Sports Coaching
6. Sports Development
7. Fitness Testing for Sport & Exercise
The course is 100% coursework with no exams
Opportunities in the sports industry are varied and include Sports Scientist, Exercise Physiologist, Bio-mechanist, Sports Psychologist, PE teacher, sports coach, Sports Centre Management and Professional Sports Performer.
