Once you have enrolled you will be able to start college. The first day for new students is Monday 2nd September. This will be an induction day to introduce you to the college and help you get your bearings. You will receive your timetable on this day and will start some of your new courses in the afternoon. On Tuesday 3rd September the upper sixth are back in as well and everyone is following their normal timetable.
Enrolment dates for September 2019:
Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th August
All applicants will receive an invitation to enrolment during the 2019 summer holidays. All current students will also need to re-enrol during this time and will agree an appointment with their Guidance Support Tutor.
If you have not applied by enrolment you can turn up between 11:30am and 2:30pm on either the Tuesday or the Wednesday and we’ll fit you in.
Didn’t get the results you expected? Don’t panic!
Whatever your GCSE results, come and speak to us about your options – you can apply for our Progression Year of GCSEs and BTECs! Click here for more information
It is essential that all new and returning students are in college for enrolment and re-enrolment; please do not book holidays during this crucial period. Late enrolling students will have a more limited course choice and there is clear evidence that new students who do not experience the enrolment process with their peers, find settling into college far more difficult.
If you are unable to attend enrolment, please let Admissions know on 01723 380722.
Become an S6F student for the day
S6F Preview gives you the chance to experience college life and sample some subjects. It is a good opportunity to explore the college, meet the staff and make friends. For 2018 entry the Preview Days will be:
Monday 2nd & Tuesday 3rd July 2018
Both days start at 9am and finish at 4pm. If you have applied to college you will receive a letter a week before the Preview Days detailing where you will need to go on arrival. If you have any questions or wish to change your subject choices you can contact the Admissions Team at email@example.com or 01723 380722.
If you’ve applied to college but are going to be away for S6F Preview please let us know. Don’t worry if this is the case, non-attendance at the Preview day will not affect your application.
Not Applied to College?
If you have yet to make a decision about what you will be doing in September you can still attend the taster days. Please contact the Admissions Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01723 380722 and they will organise this for you.
Attend a Consultation
All applicants will be invited into the college for a consultation. Parents will receive a letter with the appointment time and date for their son/daughter to attend. These are sent out in order of received applications. Due to the number of students that we need to meet with consultations take place over a number of months. You should receive your appointment approximately two weeks beforehand.
The consultation takes around 15 minutes in total and is to discuss course choices, entry requirements and address any questions that you may have.
Topics that may be covered during the consultation:
- Predicted GCSE results and entry requirements
- Qualifications you wish to study at S6F
- Employment opportunities and further study that the course/s can lead to
- Other options you could consider
- Timetable commitments as a student at Scarborough Sixth Form College
Students should consider:
- What skills, qualifications, strengths, interests etc. do you have in relation to the needs of the course?
- What are your reasons for wanting to come to S6F?
- The amount of work you will have to do, including coursework and exams
Attendance at consultation
The consultation is an important element in the college’s admissions process. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please contact Admissions on email@example.com
