Business & Professional Administration – L4 - Apprenticeship

Entry Requirements:

This apprenticeship is designed for learners working in a senior business administration role or would like to progress into that role.  There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements but it would be helpful if you have already worked in a lower level of business administration or achieved a Business Administration Level 3 or related qualification.  It is also unlikely that it would be suitable for anyone aged under 18.

Apprenticeship Profile:

Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector.

This Apprenticeship is aimed at individuals working in business and administration, in a management and/or supervisory role, and aims to provide a workforce with the skills, knowledge and competencies to support business systems, processes and services and who can contribute to making businesses more efficient and productive.

This framework is suitable for those responsible for tasks including overseeing operational activities, implementing change within organisations, managing teams, monitoring risk and agreeing budgets.

Job roles may include: Office Manager, Administration Team Leader, Personal Assistant, Project Manager and Business Development Officer.

Duration:

The on-programme pace will be driven by the apprentice and guided by your dedicated trainer.  The Business and Professional Administrator apprenticeship is a minimum of 12 months and should typically be completed within 24 months maximum period.

Qualifications:

This apprenticeship framework requires the qualifications listed below and S6F will provide a clear learning journey to take you from entry point through to the gateway, ready for the end-point assessment and successful achievement. In order to meet this apprenticeship standards, apprentices must:

  • Work through the apprenticeship standard displaying all the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours required
  • Build a small portfolio of evidence
  • BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration Knowledge & Competence
  • Employee Rights and responsibilities (ERR)

Assessment:

All units within the above qualifications will be internally assessed.  This will be through assignments, observation of you working, assessment of your portfolio, work colleagues and managers verifying your skills & knowledge and assessing the work / products you produce as part of your daily role.

Progression:

Completion of the Business Administration Level 4 Apprenticeship may be a gateway to further opportunities, such as management or senior support roles.

Further progression onto a Management or Customer Service route or indeed a Foundation Degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
