College is an important time of your life. It is very different from school and encourages you to develop into an independent adult. There is plenty of support to help you achieve this and also plenty of opportunity for you to try different things, make new friends and really enjoy your experience of college.
The Student Union is made up of students with the aim of organising events and activities at college, often raising money for charity. Recent events have included an Open Mic, a “pub” quiz in the Hub and a trip to Hallowscream at York Maze. Our Student Union has strong links with the National Union of Students. Don’t forget to purchase your NUS card to receive loads of great student discounts!
The Student Forum meet every term to discuss issues and ideas that will make students’ college experience here at S6F as enjoyable and beneficial as possible.
Meetings are chaired by our student-elected President and are assisted by the input of the Learner Voice Co-ordinator and the Dedicated Tutor Representatives.
This is the perfect opportunity for the tutor representatives to discuss matters affecting their tutor groups, provide feedback for the college, vote on pressing issues and communicate student views in an open environment.
