Location & Transport
If you are aged 16-18 at the start of your course, and you live within the catchment area of one of the Scarborough/Filey 11-16 schools, and if you live more than three miles from the Sixth Form College, you may qualify for daily travel assistance. If you live within the catchment area of a school with a Sixth Form (e.g. Whitby School, Lady Lumley's School, Malton School) you will qualify for travel assistance only if a course essential for your career choice is not available there.
The granting of this assistance is at the discretion of North Yorkshire County Council; Application forms are available online from http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/schooltransport 16-19 around Easter time or by contacting the Awards Section, County Hall, Harrogate (Tel. 0845 0349467). All students now pay a contribution of £350 per year, in instalments, to North Yorkshire County Council. Closing date for applications is 30 September 2012.
Bridlington students currently have a subsidised bus organised by the college costing £350 a year. Further details available after enrolment.
