CERTIFICATE OF PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS (CoPE)
The CoPE qualification is designed to enable students to develop and demonstrate a range of personal, key and employability skills leading to personal effectiveness. It is hoped that students will be able to broaden their experiences and manage learning through enrichment activities provided by a series of challenges. On completion they will receive formal recognition and accreditation gaining 70 UCAS points through ASDAN.
Are there any special requirements?
Yes! You need to have had some experience in different areas which you undoubtedly have:
- Personal Development: helping people reach their true potential
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- A stepping stone to employment: provides a recognised qualification
- Develops motivation and teamwork skills by working with others
- Broadens experience
What and how will I be studying?
The Level 3 Course is divided into challenges:
- Active Citizenship
- Work related activities
- Career Planning
- Global Awareness
- Enrichment Activities
- Research and Presentation Skills
How is the Course assessed?
You produce a portfolio of detailed evidence of six key skills which you have developed whilst meeting the challenges of your choice. This is assessed by your teacher, internal verifier and external verifier. You will also do a presentation.
What opportunities are there?
The CoPE qualification will help students develop by managing their own learning effectively. It can contribute to your UCAS or job application. The Level three award will attract 70 UCAS points.
